45 hours per week | 7:30am – 5:00pm

Waste management company is recruiting an IWS Operator to join our Carryduff site on a permanent basis.

This is a hands-on, plant-based role supporting waste treatment and recycling operations within a fast-paced and safety-focused environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Yard Operations Manager, you will support the safe and efficient operation of the treatment plant through:

• Plant & Equipment Operation
  • Operating heavy plant and waste processing machinery
  • Monitoring equipment performance and reporting faults
  • Ensuring safe and correct use of all machinery and tools

• Waste Handling & Processing
  • Sorting, segregating and processing waste materials
  • Preventing cross-contamination
  • Supporting site throughput and operational targets

• Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Following all Health & Safety procedures
  • Wearing PPE at all times (provided)
  • Reporting hazards and near misses
  • Attending safety briefings and training sessions

• Site & Operational Support
  • Maintaining high housekeeping standards
  • Assisting with loading/unloading and materials movement
  • Completing operational logs and equipment checks

Essential:

• Experience operating and monitoring heavy plant/machinery
• Ability to carry out physical manual labour
• Strong communication skills
• Reliable with excellent attendance record
• Willingness to work overtime and out-of-hours rotas when required

Desirable:

• CSR Card or relevant Health & Safety qualification
• Full driving licence
• Experience operating agricultural-type machinery
• Mechanical knowledge or maintenance experience
• Industrial cleaning experience

• £14.50 per hour
• Permanent contract from day one
