** FOOD SCIENTIST I - CARROLLTON, TX**##
** OVERVIEW:
** As a Food Scientist I, you will work under the guidance of senior scientists to support the development and improvement of corn and flour-based tortilla products. You’ll apply fundamental food science principles to create and optimize formulations and ensure consistent quality from benchtop trials to full-scale production.

This role combines hands-on laboratory work with plant trial-based activities, giving you exposure to real-world manufacturing processes while contributing to innovation and customer satisfaction.##
** WHAT YOU'LL DO:
*** Develop new products to meet customer or market needs, focusing on texture, flavor, and functionality.
* Conduct benchtop testing, plant trials, and full-scale production monitoring while collaborating with operations to ensure successful scale-up and optimization.
* Coordinate sensory panels, perform lab analyses and applications testing, monitor product stability via shelf-life studies, and organize competitive reviews & customer innovation sessions.
* Assess production processes and recommend improvements to reduce waste or cost, or increase quality or profitability.
* Maintain accurate documentation of research findings, formulations, and test results.
* May assist in the maintenance of product specifications and customer documentation.
* Ensure sample requests are processed and shipped in a timely manner.
* Maintains a clean and organized test area.##
** WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
*** Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related field
* 0-3 yrs experience in product development & dough rheology preferred.
* Understanding of food chemistry, microbiology, nutrition, HACCP, GMP, and food safety standards.
* Strong organizational and time management skills, as well as detail-oriented, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to lift 25lbs and occasionally work in an environment with temperature variations.
* Work in a fast-paced environment and shift priorities as needed.
* Proficiency in MS Office and online tools.##
