Job Purpose

An SMT specialist operates, maintains, and troubleshoots Surface Mount Technology assembly equipment to produce electronic circuit boards with precision. Responsibilities include setting up pick‑and‑place machines, reflow ovens, screen printers, performing quality inspections, and resolving defects. The role requires strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, electronics knowledge, and teamwork with engineering and quality control.

Nature Of Duties / Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain programs for Fuji equipment and oversee automated PC board assembly processes.
• Program various equipment such as automated placement Fuji (NXT, AIMEX), wave solder, screen printers, AOI, re‑flow ovens.
• Conduct in‑process quality inspections using AOI to identify and address defects.
• Maintain SMT processes, write profiles, and monitor equipment lines for optimal performance and quality.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and machine operators to improve processes, resolve defects, and meet schedules.
• Implement customer‑specified program modifications (ECOs).
• Troubleshoot process and equipment problems and perform fault corrections.

Education & Experience

• Associate’s Degree or 2‑year technical degree, or equivalent experience.
• 4‑6 years supporting SMT programming teams.
• Experience with Fujicam, Factory Logix, Nexim software is a plus.
• Understanding of production environments and ability to work under deadlines.
• Detail‑oriented, quick learner, able to read drawings and documents.
• Strong written and oral communication; good organization and documentation.
• Computer skills with MS Office / Google Suite.
