* Job Purpose:

** Our Transportation Supervisor will be responsible for directly supervising and coordinating activities of transportation and vehicle operators.
*
* Job Responsibilities:

*
* ● Manage on a day-to-day basis the transportation of goods and supplies using existing procedures; review and recommend improvements to procedures to ensure on-time delivery of goods and supplies.  
● Provide operational support by performing a range of route activities using existing systems and protocols.  
● Gather and summarize data and prepare documents and reports using a variety of computer applications such as Microsoft Office.  
● Supervise and lead a team performing routine work.  
● Design own monthly schedule and, if necessary, assign work to others in order to speed up office workflow and ensure high-priority tasks get done.  
● Maintain a culture of safety that follows the organization's Health, Safety and Environmental (HS&E) policies to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to oneself and others in the workplace. Instruct the team in safe working methods and escalate serious issues as appropriate.  
● Develop knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct to ensure own work adheres to those standards. Obtain authorization from a supervisor or manager for any exceptions from mandatory procedure.  
● Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

* ● Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills including but not limited to performance management (employee evaluations, discipline, corrective action, coaching) and conducting interviews.  
● Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.  
● Ability to develop proficiency with company computer system is essential.  
● Ability to motivate and develop direct reports.  
● Strong planning, organization, and customer relations’ skills are required.  
● Experience and thorough understanding of warehouse, delivery, traffic operations and systems within a distribution setting, as well as government regulations (e.g., DOT, OSHA, Haz Mat, etc.).  
● Experience of supervising and directing people and other resources to achieve specific end results within limited time frames.  
● Experienced practitioner able to work unsupervised.

* Work Experience:

● Regularly working in outside weather conditions, exposure to extremes of temperature, visibility, wet and/or humid conditions and vibrations.

* Physical Requirements:

** The physical requirements listed below are representative of those needed to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.  
● Ability to lift, twist and carry 50 – 75 pounds, manipulate (push and pull) up to 160 pounds of product with material handling equipment, and skids weighing up to 2,000 pounds utilizing pallet jack.  
● Walking/Standing - walk throughout the warehouse to complete customer orders. Stand when operating order picker or reach truck equipment and when operating cutter.  
● Sitting - sit only when driving sit-down material handling equipment.

● Lifting - lift items weighing a few ounces up to 150 pounds with assistance.  
● Stooping - performed when filling orders or putting away products assigned to floor level locations. May bend at the waist.  
● Kneeling - kneel when filling orders or putting away products assigned to floor level locations.
