RealREPP, a full-service recruiting firm, is partnering with a growing, stable, and nationally recognized building systems expert to assist them in hiring a Payroll Manager
. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing systems to ensure timely and accurate multi‑state payroll processing—including garnishments, benefits, and taxes—in compliance with all federal and state wage and hour laws. The Payroll Manager also leads and develops the payroll team to ensure operational excellence, accuracy, and consistent achievement of business outcomes. is a leading firm that offers a highly collaborative, friendly and positive work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Recruit, select, assign, schedule, coach, counsel, and discipline payroll team members. Communicate job expectations, monitor performance, conduct reviews, and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Oversee daily payroll operations to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance with internal controls and established standards.
  • Manage timely, accurate processing of all payroll cycles, including new hires, transfers, promotions, temporary workers, and terminations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain organization‑wide payroll structures, processes, and systems to ensure compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Coordinate the collection, consolidation, and evaluation of payroll data. Prepare and manage all weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year‑end reports.
  • Partner closely with Operations and HR to reconcile data, support cross‑departmental initiatives, and identify process improvements.
  • Stay current on best practices and all legislative or regulatory changes. Recommend policy and procedural updates to maintain compliance.
  • Make independent decisions and implement solutions to ensure payroll accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provide leadership to exempt and non‑exempt payroll staff, guiding performance, development, and workload distribution.
  • Perform additional assignments or special projects as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience managing a multi‑state payroll department (preferred).
  • Experience in cost accounting and union contract interpretation.
  • Experience with ADP strongly preferred.
  • Strong cross‑functional understanding of payroll, accounting, and general business practices.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence, motivate, and guide a team to successful outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Advanced analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Highly organized, process‑oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong commitment to maintaining compliance and delivering high‑quality results.
