Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Reports To:

Occupational Therapist / Director of Rehabilitation

Job Summary

Provides OT services under supervision of a licensed OT. Assists patients in regaining daily living and independence.

• Carry out OT treatment plans.
• Instruct patients in adaptive equipment and self-care.
• Document services and report progress to OT.
• Collaborate with therapy and nursing staff.

• Associate’s Degree from accredited OTA program.
• Current state license.
• Experience preferred.
• An Associate’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program is required.
• A current state license to practice as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant is required and must be maintained.

• Knowledge of OT activities.
• Ability to follow OT instructions.
• Strong communication skills.

• Lifting, standing, walking, bending.
• Healthcare and LTC facility environment.
