Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and financial reporting across multiple plants. You’ll be a trusted partner to Operations, Engineering, Sales, and Plant Accounting—driving insight, improving processes, and helping leadership make smart, data-driven decisions.

- Lead cost accounting activities to ensure accurate product costing and inventory valuation
- Maintain and enhance cost accounting systems, policies, and procedures
- Perform cost-benefit analyses for projects, capital investments, and new initiatives
- Develop cost forecasts, financial models, and benchmarks to support strategic planning
- Analyze variances between standard and actual costs and explain results to leadership
- Calculate, update, and maintain standard costs for materials, parts, and finished products
- Lead the annual Cost Roll process in collaboration with Procurement, Materials, and Plant Accounting
- Ensure accuracy of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routing in the ERP system
- Support new product costing, pricing decisions, and cost rollups for engineering changes
- Partner with Supply Chain to optimize material and supplier costs
- Develop and maintain standard costs for labor, overhead, and production operations
- Conduct time and motion studies to improve labor efficiency and cost accuracy
- Analyze manufacturing processes to identify cost reduction and efficiency opportunities
- Monitor production transactions, scrap, cycle counts, and operational variances
- Translate ERP data into meaningful insights for operations and management
- Support annual plant budgets, forecasts, and standard cost updates in ERP
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly cost, margin, and inventory reports
- Analyze gross margins by customer, product, and job
- Assist with month-end and year-end close related to inventory and manufacturing accounts
- Support external audits, R&D credit documentation, and compliance initiatives
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
- 5+ years of accounting experience, including 3–5 years in manufacturing cost accounting
- Experience partnering with Engineering and Operations on cost standards
- Exposure to property accounting strongly preferred
- Strong ERP experience (manufacturing environment required)
- Advanced Excel skills and financial modeling expertise
- Experience analyzing large datasets and building detailed cost reports
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP as it applies to manufacturing
- CPA, CMA, or other recognized accounting designation preferred
- Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail
- Comfortable being out on the plant floor partnering with operations
- Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights
- Self-motivated, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities
- High integrity and ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Confident communicator who can present findings to leadership
