Primary

Purpose:

Teach Graphic Design and/or Commercial Photography to students. Work with students to design, photograph and create in Adobe suite to prepare them for certification tests and careers in the Graphic Design field

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

* Valid teacher certification

* Technical Applications

* Technical Education

* Bachelor's degree - preferred

Preferred Experience:

* At least three (3) years' experience working with graphic design, AV, commercial photography or related fields.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Instructional Strategies:

* Prepare students to pass the industry-based certification exam for graphic design.

* Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of TEA curriculum in Arts, A/V Tech & Communications.

* Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.

* Conduct assessment of student learning style and use results to plan instructional activities.

* Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives and methods according to district and state requirements.

* Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.

Student Growth and Development:

* Be a positive role model for students and support the mission of the school district.

* Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned.

* Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal teaching.

* Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits.

* Participate in related Career Tech Student Organization's (CTSO's) for their program including preparing and traveling with students to competitions if applicable.

Classroom Management and Organization:

* Create classroom environments conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.

* Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
