Job Summary

The Safety Coordinator at Egnite Electric supports the implementation, oversight, and continuous improvement of the company’s safety and health programs across all electrical and construction projects. This position reports directly to the Safety Director, and both report to the Chief Operating Officer (COO). The Safety Coordinator ensures compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and company safety policies while promoting a proactive, responsible, and collaborative safety culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement, maintain, and enforce safety policies, programs, and procedures across electrical and industrial operations.
  • Conduct field inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments on active project sites.
  • Coordinate and deliver safety training programs (OSHA 10/30, NFPA 70E, PPE, First Aid/CPR, Confined Space, etc.).
  • Investigate incidents, injuries, and near-misses, determine root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inspections, trainings, reports, and permits.
  • Assist the Safety Director with safety performance metrics (KPIs, incident rates, compliance tracking, etc.).
  • Review and monitor subcontractor safety plans before and during project execution.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Foremen to integrate safety procedures throughout all project phases.
  • Participate in safety meetings with clients and general contractors, representing Egnite Electric professionally.
  • Stay current with OSHA, NFPA, NESC, and other applicable electrical and construction safety standards.
Qualifications

Education and Training

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Preferred certifications: OSHA 30 Construction, NFPA 70E, CPR/First Aid, CHST, or CSP.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in safety management within the electrical, construction, or industrial sectors.
  • Hands‑on knowledge of LOTO, electrical energy control, working at heights, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Experience in low‑ and medium‑voltage electrical projects in commercial or industrial settings.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong understanding of OSHA 1910/1926, NFPA 70E, and electrical safety best practices.
  • Skilled in performing audits, risk assessments, and safety training.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital safety management platforms (Procore, HCSS Safety, etc.).
  • Detail‑oriented, professional, and committed to continuous improvement.
