The SCR Proposal Technical Proposal Specialist will work to continually improve the overall workflow of the sales proposal process from initial inquiry to final sale (both new systems and existing system upgrades). The candidate will work with all disciplines within SCR to develop and tailor sales proposals to meet customer requirements and will especially work closely with SCR Engineering on technical matters during the proposal development process.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Works with all engineering disciplines in SCR to identify and clarify the scope of work needed and type of proposal which will best meet customer's needs.

• Provides technical input into bid proposals, projects and technical documents within the sales process, and identifies additional sales opportunities with existing customers.

• Responsible for continued development and maintenance of a professional looking and written proposal including formatting and technical editing and ensuring proposals are responsive, thorough, and consistent in layout and design.

• Works closely with proposal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) while editing and performing general quality control on all proposal content and incorporates technical data and specifications into concise descriptions.

• Maintains, updates, and improves cost estimating database including the preparation of cost estimates for new system and upgrade proposals.

• Leads the process to standardize the Proposal and Sales Cycle from initial inquiry through final sale working to integrate this standard process with the after-sale Project Management process.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline with 5+ years business experience. Previous exposure to international sales preferred.

• Requires a person with a proven aptitude in business administration combined with experience writing clear, concise, compelling, and accurate documents or proposals.

• Requires related industry experience such as proposal / contract / sales management or technical writing.

• Need strong technical writing skills, be analytical, highly organized, and able to manage competing priorities - self-starter able to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.

• Must possess excellent communication, organization, presentation, interpersonal, and project management skills and must be highly skilled in the Microsoft Office suite of software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.).

• Working knowledge of continuous casting operations and SCR a substantial plus, but not required.

• Ability to travel internationally (not immediately but average up to 10%).

Ability to work overtime and weekends, potentially travel as needed
