Hourly: $9.00 - $11.70

SummaryThe Manager in Training assists the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager with overall operations and administrative duties, ensuring the store runs smoothly and aligns with company policies. They possess knowledge of each product area, help devise strategies to meet store goals, promote sales and promotions, uphold visual and operational standards, and serve as ambassadors of Hibbett to create a unique customer experience.
In the Store Manager’s absence, they assume supervisory control and are trained in all store management responsibilities.
- Assist the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in controlling the assets of HibbUP.
- Collaborate with the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager to develop action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
- Assume responsibility for the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager.
- Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments.
- Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability across all departments.
- Direct staff to meet departmental and store standards.
- Keep the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
- Maintain high-quality customer service.
- Perform general administrative duties as needed and are trained in Store Manager responsibilities.
- Deliver extraordinary customer service as outlined in the customer service manual, including assistance at the entrance and during peak periods.
- Promote and sell Hibbett services and merchandise.
- Practice and uphold all Hibbett City Gear policies, procedures, and standards, including those in the operations policy manual, personnel policy manual, visual manual, customer service manual, and relevant memos.
- Protect company assets and financial information by ensuring accurate internal controls and reporting potential fraud risks to management or appropriate officials.
- Supervise employees in the absence of the Store Manager, following organizational policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, , planning, assigning, directing work, and resolving problems.
- Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
- 1-3 years of customer service experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits.
- Self‑starter with initiative to take on important tasks independently.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and precisely.
- Team‑player, passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.
