Job SummaryAs a Federal Work Study Student Assistant for Newnan Student Services, you will support daily operations by assisting students, parents, faculty, staff, and community members with University-related questions and needs. This front-facing role requires professionalism, strong customer service skills, and attention to detail.
The position involves sitting and standing for extended periods while assisting students in person, by email, and over the phone. Responsibilities include receiving and processing documentation for Admissions, Financial Aid, Health Services, and other departments, while maintaining strict confidentiality in accordance with University policies.
You will also help plan and carry out weekly student engagement events by assisting with logistics, creating promotional materials in Canva, supporting social media efforts, setting up and working events, and tracking attendance in Wolf Connect.
Additionally, this role supports Newnan Testing Services by proctoring exams, checking in students, verifying identification, explaining testing rules, monitoring sessions, and maintaining a secure testing environment.
The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, service-oriented, and committed to supporting the success of the Newnan Campus.
Required Qualifications- Must be Federal Work Study eligible, and employment cannot begin until eligibility is verified.
- Currently enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at the University of West Georgia.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Ability to work a flexible 20‑hour schedule each week, which includes two (2) 8‑hour shifts and one (1) 4‑hour shift over three days. All scheduled hours will take place Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
- Ability to lift 15–25 lbs.
- Ability to sit and stand for up to 8 hours per day.
- Ability to maneuver throughout campus unimpeded.
- Regular and timely attendance required.
- Fully online student preferred with flexibility to adjust schedule to support student engagement programs and office needs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience using Canva Pro.
