Job SummaryThe Residence Life Coordinator (RLC) is an educator who provides direction for student learning and academic success by managing a residence hall and coordinating the administrative, supervisory, and programmatic efforts, as well as adjudication of lower‑level conduct cases, for an educational area encompassing one building housing up to 350 students. As a live‑in staff member of University Housing, the RLC develops comfortable living and learning communities that foster academic success.
This is achieved by assisting individuals with personal needs and concerns, supervising student graduate and support staff, and advising student leadership groups. The position serves in an on‑call duty rotation with multiple other professional staff members, serving as crisis response for more than 2,800 residential students. It is responsible for the oversight of our Village Community, comprised primarily of Fraternity/Sorority and other student‑organization housing, and requires nights and weekend work due to social events within the community.
- Community Oversight & Engagement – Provides direct oversight of the Village Community, which includes Fraternity/Sorority housing and other student organization‑affiliated residences. Develops strong relationships with chapter leadership and advisors, supports community standards, and attends regular meetings and events. This responsibility includes frequent evening and weekend commitments tied to social and organizational functions.
- Residential Education & Academic Success – Develops and implements educational initiatives that support academic achievement, holistic student development, and community engagement. Promotes learning opportunities through advising student leadership groups, supporting Living‑Learning Communities, and collaborating on university‑wide student success programs.
- Staff Supervision & Student Support – Recruits, trains, and supervises graduate and student staff, providing ongoing development and performance feedback. Provides individual student support through regular interactions, referrals, and follow‑up, fostering an inclusive and supportive residential environment.
