Job Summary

This position will assist University Advising at the front desk, answering phones, scheduling appointments with the appropriate advisors, answering questions and directing students and visitors to the relevant department to resolve queries and issues, and assisting other Advising staff as needed. The student assistant will also aid with planning and arranging meetings and special events, among other duties or special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be a current University of West Georgia student enrolled in 6 credit hours or more.
  • Must have and maintain a 2.5 GPA.
  • High levels of professionalism and excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, proper phone etiquette, and dependability.
  • Excellent at multitasking and time management.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
  • General computer knowledge:
    Microsoft Office, MS Word, and Excel.
  • Must be able to work 20 hours/week.
  • Must have Federal Work Study award.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous administrative and office experience.
