Job Summary

This temporary position supports the Gift Processing Specialist in managing the accounts receivable and gift processing functions for the University of West Georgia Foundation and the UWG Athletic Foundation. The role is responsible for assisting with receipting, recording, and acknowledging incoming gifts from various channels to ensure accurate fund allocation.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in processing and posting donor gifts and program revenues received by the Foundations through multiple channels; prepare honor/memorial gift correspondence; assist in preparing donor receipts and pledge reminders; prepare calendar year end donor gift summaries.
  • Assist in preparing monthly and ad hoc fundraising reports for Foundation and institutional senior leadership, and other divisional and cross-campus partners approved to receive such information. Maintain close communication with Development, Alumni and Constituent Relations, data Integrity, and enrichment teams to ensure proper set up of appeals. Assist in reviews of gift entry performed by other advancement services employees.
  • Assist in maintaining and reconciling deferred revenue accounts to be in accordance with GAAP. Assist with annual financial audit information requests and Form 990 return support documentation. Assist with constituents (donors) records maintenance for names, addresses, relationships, and other information gathered during the gift entry process. Other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications Required Educational/Experience

    High School / GED;
    High School diploma and four years of experience in accounting work, preferably nonprofit accounting; or an Associate's degree in accounting or a related field. Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications with strong skills in Word and Excel. Extensive data entry experience and the ability to organize data in a consistent and logical method. Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.

    Ability to execute complex assignments with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail with the ability to recognize clerical errors and omissions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to meet frequent deadlines, work under stressful conditions, and work effectively in a service-oriented environment.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelors Degree.

    Preferred Experience:

    Experience with constituent relationship management applications, especially Raiser’s Edge or other Blackbaud products; experience preferably in nonprofit accounting.

    Salary

    $21.73 hourly. Paid on a bi-weekly basis.
