Faculty and staff members are expected to be physically present on campus as needed to support the in-person educational experience and on-campus vitality at the University of West Georgia. Depending upon assignments and demand, this could include the Carrollton or Newnan campus.
OverviewThe Records Compliance Manager supports the Director of Policy and Information Management in operationalizing records and information management (RIM) activities and compliance operations. This role assists in the implementation of university-wide records policies and procedures, ensures adherence to applicable federal and state regulations, and helps facilitate internal process improvements related to records handling, retention, and compliance documentation.
ResponsibilitiesAssist with red actions, records clean-up, and other required tasks to ensure compliance with the Georgia Open Records Act (GORA). Developments, implementation, and review of records and information management policies and procedures in alignment with institutional goals and regulatory requirements.
Bachelor's Degree
Required ExperienceBachelor's degree from an accredited institution OR minimum of 5 years of professional experience in records management, compliance, administrative coordination, or related areas. Strong understanding of records handling and privacy compliance regulations (e.g., FERPA, Georgia Records Act, Georgia Open Records Act). Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and (verbal and written) communication skills. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and prioritize and complete multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently with minimal supervision.
Master's Degree
Preferred ExperienceMaster's degree from an accredited institution in Public Administration, Legal Studies, Business Information Science, or a related field. Experience (5-7 years) working in a higher education or public sector environment. Familiarity with electronic records management systems.
Proposed Salary$56,910 annually. Paid on a monthly basis.
Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and record related platforms or databases. Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, analysis, and documentation. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interpret and apply laws and policies relating to information management and compliance. Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and support administrative leaders.
Physical RequirementsLifting up to 15lbs. Office Environment - Work normally performed in a typical interior work environment.
