WESCO Industries is a private, not-for-profit rehabilitation facility dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities in achieving their potential for independence. Based in Denison, Iowa, the organization provides high-quality services through ongoing assessments and personalized goal setting. With roots dating back to 1965, WESCO has grown significantly and currently serves over 150 clients of all ages through various programs. Accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities since 1983, WESCO continues to focus on enhancing the quality of care and opportunities for clients in the region.
Role Description
The Director of Growth & Development leads fundraising strategy and revenue growth for the Foundation. This role focuses on grants, major gifts, donor cultivation, and planned giving, with particular emphasis on legacy gifts and bequests.
The ideal candidate is a dynamic relationship-builder who understands rural communities, agricultural families, and local business leaders, and can convert trust into sustainable philanthropic support.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising and growth strategy
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual and major gift donors
- Lead grant identification, writing, submission, and reporting
- Build and manage planned giving initiatives, including bequests and legacy gifts
- Establish relationships with business owners, executives and administrators, attorneys, CPAs, and financial advisors
- Track fundraising activity, donor pipelines, and revenue performance
- Provide regular fundraising reports to Foundation leadership and Board
- Represent the Foundation at community events and donor meetings

Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or advancement
- Proven success raising funds through donations, major gifts, and/or grants
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills
- Experience working in rural, agricultural, or community-based environments preferred
- Grant writing experience strongly preferred
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and self-direction
- Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, or Communication is preferred.
- Certifications in CFRE, Planned Giving, Grant Writing, or Professional Fundraising are preferred.
- Demonstrated Artificial Intelligence aptitude
