Overview
Assistant Showroom Manager - Based Cardiff
Basic salary £29,000 plus quarterly commission
Benefits package - 31 days holidays (increasing with service), pension, healthcare, discount on all products, personal development and training, and career progression.
Candidate must hold a full UK licence
Candidates must be able to work as part of a rota, 5 days over a 7-day period.
- Help oversee daily showroom operations and support the Retail Team, with experience in interior design, luxury home goods, or related industry sectors.
- Generate sales from both retail and trade customers, focusing on meeting sales goals and boosting profits.
- Manage stock and merchandise, train staff, and ensure compliance with the company's health and safety policies.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve issues professionally.
- Assist with day-to-day operations, maintain visual standards, and implement company policies and procedures.
- Identify, engage, and convert new customers, including investigating opportunities, building relationships, and guiding them through to order placement.
- Motivate and delegate to staff, maintain a customer-focused attitude, and communicate effectively with clients and team members.
- Ensure knowledge of health and safety regulations is applied.
- Be decisive, a problem solver, highly organised, numerate, and accurate.
- Utilise computer systems for showroom management and implement decisions as needed.
- Be enthusiastic about change, new ideas, and industry learning.
- Be physically capable of lifting products when required.
- Oversee stocktaking and inventory management with timely and accurate records.
- Stay updated on new products and ranges and provide training to the team.
- Assist marketing with tracking how visitors heard about the showroom.
- Manage and oversee discounts provided by the Retail Sales Team.
- Guide the showroom team's performance with training, mentorship, and motivation.
- Create a collaborative, energetic workspace and promote proactive, customer-focused attitude.
- Develop strong connections with clients, including homeowners, designers, and trade professionals, and understand their goals to provide tailored recommendations and post-sale support.
- Address complaints quickly and professionally to maintain satisfaction.
- Conduct sales visits at offices or sites and recommend products that drive growth.
- Gain expertise in manufacturing processes to confidently sell standard and custom materials suited to client needs and project requirements.
- Promote the business locally through networking and community involvement.
- Monitor market trends and suggest refinements to boost sales and enhance customer experience.
- Identify upselling opportunities to increase satisfaction and sales results.
- Support ongoing improvements in the sales process by identifying obstacles and contributing ideas for effective implementation to increase profitability and client satisfaction.
- Handle sales and orders, manage cash, payment systems, and banking in line with company policies.
- Work closely with the team to offer personalised design solutions that meet clients' unique needs.
