Lab Technician

Job Description

The lab technician will be responsible for preparing samples and performing wet chemistry tests on raw materials and finished goods. The role involves processing food samples using wet chemistry testing, including pH, titrations, and acid-base preparation. The technician will perform routine tasks independently and competently, eventually receiving training to run ICP-MS, and generate precise, reliable data in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

+ Prepare samples and perform wet chemistry tests such as pH, titrations, and acid-base preparation.

+ Conduct sample preparation tasks including weighing, pipetting, and volumetric dilutions.

+ Generate precise, reliable, and reproducible data efficiently.

+ Troubleshoot experiments and instrumentation.

+ Maintain instrument calibration.

+ Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding safety and GMP compliance.

+ Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

+ Perform housekeeping tasks in the laboratory, ensuring cleanliness and organization.

+ Perform other related duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

+

Experience with wet chemistry techniques such as pH, titrations, and acid-base preparation.

+ Bachelor's degree in a science field or an Associate's degree with 1-2 years of lab experience.

+ Proficiency in laboratory safety and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).

+ Quality control experience.

The lab technician will work in a small, family-owned company environment, alongside one other lab technician, with production on-site. Comfort in a close-knit family setting is essential.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carol Stream, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
