Position Summary: The Document and Change Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining, tracking, and managing the corporate-level controlled documentation and change control process across all departments. This role ensures consistent adherence to SAI governing requirements, supports cross-functional alignment, and maintains ownership of the company’s knowledge base and quality system documentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Coordinate the approval, issuance, and lifecycle management of controlled documents and changes across all departments.
- Maintain ownership of the corporate knowledge base, ensuring documentation is current, accurate, and accessible.
- Control access to, update, and maintain electronic and manual files of original and controlled copies of approved documents.
- Coordinate periodic review and revision of controlled documents per SOP requirements.
- Develop and implement systems and solutions to support future documentation needs and continuous improvement.
- Maintain, track, and manage the change control process across all departments to ensure compliance and consistency.
- Coordinate change control submissions, approvals, implementation, and closure activities.
- Ensure changes are properly documented, communicated, and aligned with quality system and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with department leaders to support effective change of ownership and adherence to established procedures.
- Coordinate submission, storage, retrieval, retention, and disposition of quality records.
- Control access to original electronic and manual records.
- Coordinate transfer of records to off-site storage and ensure retention schedules are followed.
- Perform periodic reviews of documents and record retention periods.
- Collaborate with different members of the Quality department working in special projects.
- Responsible for day-to-day operation of the Document Control function
- Perform periodic review of document retention periods
- Maintain a safe working environment by following SAI safety procedures and protocols
- Regular in-person attendance is an essential function of this job

Education and/or Experience
- B.S degree in Business Administration, Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field; or 2 years of experience in Document Controls for a Manufacturing environment
Knowledge and
Skills:
- Technical writing, blueprint reading, and attention to detail
- Excellent computer skills, Microsoft Office Applications (Access, Excel, Word, Access)
- Advanced communication skills, written and oral
- Proactive and self-motivated in accomplishing company objectives.
- Must be able to read, write and converse fluently in English with the level of competency that will permit the applicant to function in the position (e.g. preparing technical written documents for customers and collaborating with Department Managers and Leadership teams)
Work Location: On-Site
Starting Pay: $26/hr
