Description

Western DuPage Special Recreation Association is THE place for engaging community-based social and recreational programs for individuals of all ages with special needs. You can get paid to play and make an impact on the individuals we serve!

We are currently in need of a Summer Camp Head Instructors (leaders).

Responsibilities include:

supervising and mentoring day camp counselors, assisting with behavioral challenges, planning and facilitating activities and providing targeted strategies all with the goal of providing a fun and safe summer for our participants.

Note:

Some leaders will be required to drive a 14 passenger minibus and must be 21 years of age. No CDL or special license is needed.

Camp information is as follows:

Our camps follow our member district ESY schedules and take place Monday-Thursday in the afternoons, approximately 11-3/3:30 (exact time will be dependent on the specific district camp) from early/mid June through mid July.

Camps take place in Naperville, Wheaton/Warrenville area, Carol Stream and West Chicago.

* Additional hours on Fridays and the weeks following camp are available but not required of this position

We're looking for college students, teachers, paraprofessionals, retirees, or anyone who has the desire to make an impact! We'll provide training and ongoing support and mentoring. You must be eligible for part-time employment, have reliable transportation to get to and from work, and be able to perform your job duties independently of others.
