Job SummaryThe Materials Manager oversees supply chain orchestration from customer to supplier with end-to-end visibility, optimizing inventory, freight, cost, and customer satisfaction for a multi-site operation in the US and Mexico.
Responsibilities- Manage a team of Operational Buyers, Production Planners, and Customer Service in Power Connections sites.
- Capacity vs. demand management (0-18+ month horizon), flagging exceptions and driving solutions.
- Partner with operations materials teams for warehousing and procurement when necessary.
- Develop replenishment strategy across the value stream, conduct regular policy audits.
- Create consensus supply plans balancing finished-goods inventory with capacity.
- Ensure production schedule adherence and attainment.
- Update FG inventory targets and inventory policies in collaboration with SIOP and business teams.
- Review supply and inventory metrics, identify gaps versus targets and lead improvement actions.
- Accountable for value-stream improvements in cash, cost and customer service.
- Initiate scenario planning to optimize service, cash and cost.
- Provide supply versus demand data for divisional SIOP meetings.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- 7+ years of supply-chain management and planning experience in a global or multi-plant manufacturing or industrial company.
- Proven track record of influencing and delivering end-to-end product and supply-chain results.
- Experience leading a team.
- Experience managing complex material flows across multi-tier manufacturing and distribution networks.
- Eligible to work without sponsorship now or in the future (Eaton does not provide immigration sponsorship).
- MBA or Master’s in Supply Chain, Operations or Engineering.
- Experience in automotive or electronics manufacturing.
- Experience with Advanced Planning Systems.
- Strong foundation in planning, execution, procurement and plant operations.
- Ability to build cross-functional partnerships and influence stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of supply-chain impact on P&L and working capital.
- Data analysis and interpretation skills for large volumes.
- CPIM certification (plus).
- Strong analytical skills and business acumen.
- Project management capabilities and results orientation.
- Process-oriented continuous improvement focus.
- High motivation, urgency and energetic approach to duties.
- Willingness to travel ~30% within US and Mexico.
- Holistic perspective and adaptability across cultures.
- Influential internal and external leadership with ability to motivate teams.
- Relationship building at all levels.
- Storytelling using data to generate scenarios and communicate outcomes to non-technical audiences.
