Job Description - Engineering Assistant
Job Title: Engineering Assistant
Location: Warton - Onsite
Salary: £31,672+ depending on experience
What you’ll be doing :- Interrogating engineering databases to compile reference documentation, originate reports, and order complex information for others
- Liaising with all engineering teams and other functions to enable engineering to respond to requirements, enquiries and estimates
- Designing and developing solutions to common or well‑articulated engineering situations under close supervision, working as part of a team
- Learning how to apply knowledge to a range of engineering problems, administrative tasks and issues, and applying standard engineering approaches to problems
- Shadowing and supporting Senior Engineers during their day‑to‑day tasks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to support the exchange of factual information
- Basic familiarity with engineering activities and the design‑and‑development lifecycle of a product

The GCAP Work Pack 1 (WP1) Data Management Team:The GCAP Work Pack 1 (WP1) Data Management Team is a critical enabler for BAE Systems and our International Partner Product Teams as they mature system‑design activities. It provides services that facilitate the secure management and sharing of classified data between Government Defence Ministries and Industrial Partners across the UK, Italy and Japan. As the GCAP programme evolves, the team's scope increases along with toolsets that underpin Data Management activities, requiring engagement with UK Government Departments to support seamless migration while maintaining service provision.
The Data Management Team is an integral part of the GCAP Engineering community both within BAE Systems and internationally, enabling key collaboration.
