Job Details:

• Work in a 31-bed medical-surgical unit specializing in general surgery, urology, gynecology, and bariatric surgery

• Patient ratio of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends

• 2 years of nursing experience required

• Must have 3-4 competency levels in Bariatric Surgery, Thyroidectomy, Bowel Obstruction, and Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI)

• Experience with voiding trials and/or urogyn surgeries required

• BLS certification required

• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)

• Floating required to other med-surg units within the hospital or affiliate hospitals

• Weekend coverage required with obligation to work 2 out of 3 major holidays

• 24 hours of orientation provided

• Care for adult and geriatric patients with post-operative needs

• Skills include wound care/wound vac, surgical drains, peripheral nerve block catheters, and general surgery post-care

• Work with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams

• First-time travelers accepted

• Indiana residents not accepted for this position

• 18 months experience minimum required

• Two supervisor references required
