Job Details
• 5C is a 31-bed Med/Surg unit with a concentration in general surgery, urology, gynecology, and bariatric surgery,
• Patient ratio is 1:6,
• Day shift, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00-19:30),
• Floating is required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital,
• Local candidates are not accepted for this Med/Surg position,
Job Requirements
• Active IN or Compact RN license required and must be in hand prior to start,
• Current BLS certification required (AHA or RQI accepted),
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required,
• Nursing degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited university required,
• Proficiency in post-surgical care (levels 3-4) for bariatric surgery, thyroidectomy, bowel obstruction, and continuous bladder irrigation (CBI) required,
• Experience with urology and GYN post-surgical care required,
• Cerner EMR experience required,
• SSN and DOB required for consideration,
• 2 supervisor references required for consideration,
Additional Information
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,
• Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays,
• Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO may be auto-approved; additional RTO requires facility approval,
• Any permanent or PRN employee of IU Health must have a 12-month break before applying as a traveler,
• Current or past IU Health travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health are required to take a consecutive break to reset travel eligibility - break cannot be split; contact your recruiter for details,
• Out-of-state travelers require a 90-day consecutive break prior to reaching their eligibility year mark; in-state travelers require a 180-day consecutive break,
• Indiana RNs are not eligible for this Med/Surg position (restriction effective 11/30/24); this restriction does not apply to Periop/OR, Allied, or Ambulatory RN travelers,
• Candidates may be asked a pre-screening question regarding experience with voiding trials and/or urogynecological surgeries,
