Emergency

Department – Role Context

Join a fast-paced 25-bed Emergency Department that cares for more than 30,000 adult patients each year. Our team treats a wide range of medical needs—including acute stroke, STEMI, heart failure, sepsis, DKA, and various orthopedic, gynecologic, urinary, surgical, neurological, and integumentary conditions. While we do not receive trauma patients, you’ll gain broad clinical exposure across diverse adult diagnoses.

Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse in our ED
, you’ll deliver compassionate, high‑quality care while collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary team of physicians, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), Unit Support Techs, and Paramedics. This role is ideal for nurses who value teamwork, continuous learning, and meaningful patient impact.

  • Critical care assessment skills
  • Training for Codes, STEMIs, and Strokes
  • Assist with bedside procedures such as: central line placement, conscious sedation, cardioversion, intubation, splinting, and joint aspirations
  • Fostering support for patients and family, including end-of-life care
  • Triage for patients of all ages

Qualifications
  • Requires Associates of Nursing (ASN);
    Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Education:

    The Registered Nurse (RN) must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
    • Exceptions:
      Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
