Position Summary
The CNO develops department goals, objectives, standards of performance, policies, and procedures; organizes the department in accordance with administrative guidelines in order to provide specified nursing services to meet the legal, organizational, and medical staff guidelines, works with administration in evaluating proposed procedural changes as they relate to patient care; has the authority and responsibility for establishing, directing the implementation and ensures compliance with Standards of Nursing Practice.
Pay:
Rate of pay is based on years of experience and qualifications.
- Current RN licensure appropriate to state regulations (unrestricted) required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained from the American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross. Online certification is not acceptable.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing
- Five or more years of experience in an inpatient hospital setting
- Two or more years of recent (within the last five years) nursing management experience, including responsibilities such as 24-hour accountability, FTE management, policy, procedure and budgetary oversight; and conduction of disciplinary action
- Master’s degree in nursing or related field OR a written plan to obtain such qualifications approved by the Corporate CNO and the hospital CEO, unless a higher degree is required by the state
- CRRN OR must attain when meets requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
