Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in a Level III hospital, requiring an IN or compact RN license, BLS, and NRP certifications.
Responsibilities- Work in a Level III Labor & Delivery unit with 8 labor rooms, 3 triage rooms, 2 OR suites, and 4 ATP rooms
- Approximately 200 deliveries take place in the unit each month
- Full-time schedule with 12-hour day shifts from 7:00am to 7:30pm
- Rotating holidays and every third weekend are required
- The RN will provide direct patient care, implement and monitor care plans, and coordinate multidisciplinary care
- Holiday coverage and every third weekend are required as part of the schedule
- Must possess the ability to coordinate patient discharge planning with the healthcare team
- Applicants may only apply to one position with this hospital system at a time
- Local candidates are accepted but will be offered a reduced pay rate based on proximity to the facility
- The COVID-19 vaccination is not required for this position as of July 1, 2023
- Travelers should discuss possible contract extensions with their managers 45 days prior to the end of the assignment
- Active IN or compact RN license required
- Minimum 1 year recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required
- Current NRP certification from AHA/AAP is required
- ACLS certification from the American Heart Association is preferred
- Fetal Monitoring certification preferred if not covered on competency exam within the past 2 years (AWHONN, Relias, or similar)
- Must provide Nursys license verification within 30 days prior to start
- Applicants must have a valid US Social Security Number and provide a US address
