The Life Skills Specialist monitors and provides care coordination and life skills training and development in collaboration with the care team to youth and/or adults with mental health and/or substance use disorders, including those with serious and persistent mental illness and chronic addiction.
Make a DifferenceThe Life Skills Clinician (LSC) is a key member of the multidisciplinary care team, collaborating to deliver high quality, empathetic care.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with the care team; assist with gathering data for comprehensive psychosocial assessments.
- Deescalate clients displaying aggressive behaviors and document services provided in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) per policy.
- Transport clients in personal vehicles when necessary.
- Comply with all applicable Behavioral Health Care Service policies and procedures.
- Actively participate in professional development and mandatory training.
- Complete time cards, PTO requests, mileage reports, and other documentation per Community Behavioral Health policies.
- Perform additional related duties as required.
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Current Indiana Driver's License (required)
- Two (2) years of social service experience in a volunteer or paid role (required)
- Ability to collaborate in a team setting, excellent communication skills, positive attitude toward problem-solving.
