Overview
Carmel, IN — We are seeking a seasoned Engineering Manager to lead and develop a high-performing engineering team while driving continuous improvement across production operations. This role is critical to advancing manufacturing capabilities, supporting new product introductions, and ensuring the plant consistently meets safety, quality, cost, and delivery targets. The ideal candidate is a proactive, hands-on leader who can balance strategic vision with shop-floor execution and effectively partner with customers on technical requirements.
Must-HaveQualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and process improvement initiatives
- Proficiency with ERP systems
- Experience with root cause analysis (RCA), CAPA, and 8D problem-solving
- Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Experience with CNC programming and machining
The Engineering Manager will lead a multidisciplinary engineering team while driving operational excellence, process capability improvements, and new product introduction (NPI) success. This role partners closely with operations and customers to support business growth and manufacturing performance.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Engineering & Leadership- Lead and mentor process engineers, application engineers, CNC programmers, and CAD resources
- Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for advanced manufacturing technologies
- Partner directly with customers to understand technical requirements and applications
- Maintain accurate BOMs and manufacturing processes within the ERP system
- Drive improvements in process capability, throughput, and scrap reduction
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across departments
- Manage budgets, timelines, and engineering resources
- Lead capital projects including justification, vendor selection, installation, and validation
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver equipment upgrades and automation initiatives
- Provide engineering leadership from concept through production launch
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, safety regulations, and applicable standards
- Work closely with the VP of Operations and cross-functional teams to support business objectives
- Experience with power transmission or industrial bearing applications
- Master’s degree or certifications (PMP, Lean, or Six Sigma Black Belt)
- Background in CNC automation and advanced manufacturing
- Experience managing capital equipment projects
- Familiarity with Acumatica ERP
