Region: Soccer Shots Central Indiana (Greater Indianapolis Area: Boone, Hamilton, Hendricks, Marion, & Johnson Counties)

Organization: Soccer Shots Central Indiana is a fast growing, intro-to-soccer program offered throughout the Central Indiana area. Through relationships established with private childcare centers, in addition to public “park” programs, Soccer Shots Central Indiana serves over 4,500 children, aged 2 to 10, annually. Our mission is to positively impact children’s lives through soccer and character development.

Job Description / Responsibilities

The Program Coordinator oversees all aspects of coaching and coordinates with Leadership Team members. This role is accountable for the growth of the Soccer Shots Central Indiana team while maintaining professional quality and high standards. The Program Coordinator will actively contribute to growth, success, and community impact and will represent Soccer Shots Central Indiana with excellence. The ideal candidate has a passion for working with young children and soccer, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to provide constructive feedback when needed.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • COACH RECRUITMENT:
    Hiring, running in-person interviews, collecting resumes/cover letters/references, following up with references, conducting working interviews, recommending hires, attending career fairs/hiring events, installing bandit signs as needed, onboarding paperwork, and new staff orientation.
  • APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM / COACH TRAINING:
    Overseeing apprenticeship/training program, curricula implementation, online training (attendance, timesheets), administrative procedures training, mentoring full-time/lead coaches, event training, demo/camp training, organizing pre-season coach training meetings (four per year), curricula improvement, coaching videos for each game, two evaluations per season (eight per year), scheduling evaluations, yearly reviews for full-time coaches, coach promotions, and potential firing decisions in collaboration with the Director of Operations.
  • COACH OPERATIONS & TEAM CULTURE:
    Coordinate weekly emails and scheduling with Administrative Director; manage equipment, administrative materials, attendance audits, informal coach check-ins, retention and recognition programs, team socials, Coach of the Season recognition.
  • ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT:
    Conduct eight school visits per week; address location issues, communicate changes to Administrative Director, confirm season dates and schedules with locations, coordinate director/staff gifts, and perform customer outreach as needed.
  • COACHING:

    Lead up to 25 sessions per week (solo at an A level), serve as master substitute, install marketing bandit signs as needed, and handle pre-class preparation.
  • ON-SITE PREPARATION:
    Prepare in advance (curriculum review, equipment check, attendance sheet readiness, uniforms); arrive early to centers/parks to ensure on-time class starts.
  • ON-SITE MANAGEMENT:
    Implement on-site coaching standards, ensure class is the highlight of the week, manage parent and staff interactions, and ensure smooth class flow.
  • ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS:
    Input daily attendance, track registrations, maintain notes, monitor calendar and communications, deliver trial slips, take photos/videos as required, and produce mid-season and end-of-season reports/prizes.
  • TRAVEL & SITE VISITS:
    Plan for travel time and ensure on-site presence at required locations.
