This position is a part of a brokerage apprenticeship program, a paid role that combines on-the-job learning with required education and training. As part of the role, the apprentice will work toward an associate's degree and complete an industry designation (e.g., PEBC, PRC) while building foundational skills in Employee Benefits. The role will provide outstanding customer service that impacts clients across multiple industries by supporting day-to-day operations and working with out client-facing team.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
- Work together with the Account Manager and Client Executive to service clients
- Assist with review of contracts for accuracy of policy details
- Review Benefits Open Enrollment information for accuracy of information
- Provide day-to-day customer service to clients
- Assist Client Executives and Account Managers in retention of existing clients
- Work with health risk management team in the analysis of claims information and development of additional value-add reporting including but not limited to Benefit Informatics
- Gain working knowledge of functionality of resource tools
- Assist in maintenance of client management system
- Prepare and distribute Request for Proposal (RFP) packets for all lines of group insurance coverages including medical, dental, vision, life, disability and other ancillary lines of coverage
- Work in Excel to prepare renewal information for clients
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Products:
Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point
- Enroll in and complete required college coursework through Western Governors University (WGU) toward an associate degree.
- Participate in required training, including industry designation coursework and testing (e.g., PEBC, PRC), as applicable.
- Maintain satisfactory progress and mees program participation requirements throughout the apprenticeship term.
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills with keen attention to detail; professional presentation
- Demonstrated skills: problem-solving, sense of urgency, detail-oriented, excellent organizational and time management, ability to prioritize projects
- Eligible to apply to and enroll in Western Governors University (WGU) as part of the apprenticeship program.
