Job Summary:

Are you an experienced and motivated Scrub Practitioner ready to take the next step in your career? We're recruiting Band 6 Scrub Practitioners to join our vibrant Theatre Suite at Glangwili Hospital. Our theatres support a wide range of specialties, including Emergency General Surgery, Elective and Emergency Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Trauma & Orthopaedics, ENT, Urology, and Ophthalmology, offering a rich and varied clinical experience.

As a Band 6 Team Lead, you ll play a key role in supporting our Band 7 Sisters and Charge Nurses with the day-to-day operational management of the theatre suite, ensuring the delivery of high standards of patient care and smooth, efficient service provision. You ll be part of a dynamic and motivated team in a friendly, supportive learning environment, where learning and development are championed by our dedicated Practice Development Team.

Main duties of the job
  • Support the departmental lead(s) in maintaining an efficient and effective service delivering safe patient care within an environment that promotes a responsive approach to changing health care needs.
  • Provide supervisory management and leadership skills and be motivated towards self-development in both management and leadership studies.
  • Support and work in conjunction with the Team Managers to ensure the effective delivery of high standards of nursing care.
  • Lead on a day-to-day basis the running of specialist clinical area/department, and when allocated act as the daily coordinator for the department, providing supervisory management and leadership skills in an environment which is complex and pressurised.
  • Work as a skilled Emergency Practitioner, working autonomously to support other colleagues to coordinate the clinical areas and to provide specialised knowledge ensuring the maintenance and development of a skilled nursing/Practitioner workforce.
  • Participate in an on-call and night rota, on AFC terms.
  • The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post;
    English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
