This specialist setting supports pupils from trauma backgrounds who need consistency, understanding and strong role models. The school has established, structured methods for behaviour regulation and emotional support — and now they’re looking for someone who can bring energy, resilience and the power of sport into that framework.

If you understand that behaviour is communication — and that movement can unlock focus, trust and self-belief — this could be the role for you.

• Use sport and physical activity as a tool for engagement and behaviour support
• Reinforce the school’s behaviour regulation strategies through structured activity
• Build strong, consistent and trusted relationships
• Support emotional regulation through movement, routine and clear boundaries
• Promote teamwork, discipline, resilience and self-worth
• Work closely with pastoral and teaching teams

• Sports coaching, PE, youth work or mentoring experience
• Experience supporting children or young people from trauma backgrounds
• Trauma-informed approach — understands attachment, triggers and de-escalation strategies
• Confident, calm and emotionally intelligent
• Resilient with strong boundaries and a nurturing, relational style
• Team Teach (desirable but not essential)

• Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
• 24 months’ worth of professional references
• Full UK driving licence preferred

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
