Overview

We are recruiting for two Health Records Clerks to be based in our Health Records Department in Glangwili General Hospital, Carmarthen. The current contracts available are 2 x Full time - 37.5 hours per week. For this role, previous experience in a record keeping role is not required, as on the job training will be provided. Training will begin in our Filing Library and then extend to other duties within the department.

Responsibilities
  • Filing and retrieving of patient records, locating and providing patient records for all outpatient appointments, planned admissions and day case attendances.
  • Preparation of patient records for outpatient/inpatient attendances.
  • Operation of a computerised patient administration system, including inputting and retrieval of data.
  • Dealing with telephone queries.
  • Scanning of patient records to support the Medical Examiners Service.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Excellent organisational, inter-personal and numerical skills.
  • A flexible approach to working and working hours is required.
  • Prepared to undertake additional duties as and when required.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team is vital.
  • The ability to speak Welsh is desirable;
    English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply. Welsh language support is available to help meet language requirements during employment.
