Assistant Manager I at Dollar Tree Stores
We’re seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join our team to help with store operations, customer service and team development. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Responsibilities- Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
- Help strategize and maintain a positive, approachable customer experience by addressing questions or concerns
- Coordinate merchandise flow from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and keep seasonal areas maintained
- Perform opening and closing procedures as required
- Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task architects Compliance, Key Survey requests, and other store‑related communications
- Maintain promotional effectiveness of front‑of‑store fixtures and displays
- Assist with merchandise ordering, damaged‑merchandise processing, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits/receipts), and loss prevention
- Ensure the sales floor and stockroom meet company standards of restocking and organization
- Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
- Adhere to policies and procedures, including safety guidelines, and enforce them with all store associates
- Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
- Maintain a safe, respectful environment and foster friendly, professional interactions with customers, associates, and leaders
- Maintain store cleanliness, including bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall presentation
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives required
- Preferred experience managing a retail, grocery, or drug store environment
- Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required
- Ability to work in a high‑energy team environment required
- Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required
- Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills required
