Fiber Optic Groundman

Position Summary

The Fiber Optic Groundman supports field operations by assisting linemen and construction crews with the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic and communication infrastructure. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and reliable performance in varying outdoor environments.
Key Responsibilities

• Perform ground operations including material handling, rigging, equipment preparation, and jobsite setup.
• Assist linemen with lashing, stringing, hardware assembly, and other aerial or underground tasks.
• Safely work in proximity to energized and de-energized electrical and communication lines.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
• Participate in daily safety briefings and adhere to all company, OSHA, and industry safety standards.

Qualifications

• Class A CDL or ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire.
• Previous construction, telecom, or utility experience preferred but not required.
• Willingness to work outdoors, at heights, and in various weather conditions.
• Strong safety mindset, reliability, and solid work ethic.
• Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screenings.
• Willingness to travel as needed based on project requirements.

Additional Information

• Electrical or telecommunications experience is a plus but not required.
• Travel requirements may vary depending on project locations and workload.
