Job Description:The Electrical & Instrumentation Technician installs, maintains, tests, and repairs electrical and instrumentation systems supporting production and processing operations. This role ensures electrical and control systems operate safely, reliably, and in compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and procedures. The technician provides technical support for maintenance activities, contributes to system improvements, and promotes strong health, safety, and environmental practices.
Responsibilities:- Install, maintain, test, and repair electrical and instrumentation equipment in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safe work practices.
- Evaluate electrical and control systems to diagnose issues and develop repair or improvement plans.
- Document system issues, corrective actions, and verification of completed work.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee assigned work activities with a strong emphasis on health, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Support collaboration between operations, engineering, and project teams.
- Review and provide input on control specifications, work practices, and technical documentation.
- Ensure quality and timely completion of maintenance activities in accordance with maintenance programs and schedules.
- Apply and comply with permit-to-work systems and safe work authorization processes.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to other electrical and instrumentation technicians.
- Participate in work prioritization to maximize operational effectiveness.
- Generate and support Management of Change (MOC) requests related to electrical and control systems and perform follow-up inspections.
- Inspect and support new electrical and instrumentation installations and recommend upgrades or improvements as needed.
- Attend and, when required, lead technical meetings and training sessions to communicate updates to codes, procedures, and technologies.
- Maintain open communication with team members regarding electrical and control system issues, safe work practices, and training needs.
- Act as a temporary stand-in for an Instrument and Electrical Lead when required.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in electrical, instrumentation, or a related technical field; technical school coursework preferred.
- Experience maintaining electrical systems and instrumentation in industrial or processing plant environments.
- Knowledge of regulations and standards applicable to industrial electrical and instrumentation operations.
- Familiarity with operations integrity, maintenance management, and permit-to-work systems.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience with large‑horsepower compression automation preferred.
- Valve repair and troubleshooting experience preferred.
- Basic to intermediate computing skills for documentation and reporting.
- Strong organizational and reporting skills with attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and operational excellence.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Pay: $73/hour
