Job DescriptionThe Power Line Inspector is responsible for ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of equipment, components, and systems within a manufacturing, fabrication, or construction environment. This role requires technical expertise in inspection disciplines, the ability to coordinate with contractors and suppliers, and a focus on preventing quality issues while supporting project objectives. The Inspector will advise on quality matters, monitor processes, and provide leadership in inspections, testing, and verification activities.
Responsibilities- Promote and maintain safety standards within the scope of inspection activities.
- Provide technical expertise in inspection disciplines such as electrical equipment, rotating equipment, instrumentation, fixed equipment, or Non-Destructive Examination (NDE).
- Advise on quality matters related to procurement, installation, and operation of equipment.
- Monitor production and fabrication processes; perform inspections and surveillance activities.
- Coordinate and oversee activities of third-party and contractor inspectors.
- Conduct quality inspection activities in accordance with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
- Review and evaluate contractors’ and suppliers’ quality documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Lead development and execution of detailed oversight programs for high-criticality activities or critical equipment inspections.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), final inspections, and review of supplier quality control documentation.
- Keep supervision informed of quality issues and provide recommendations for resolution.
- Provide early warning of potential quality problems and technical solutions to prevent or resolve issues.
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Engineering, Science, or related field preferred.
- Experience in project construction, manufacturing, fabrication, or quality assurance/control activities.
- Technical expertise and recent experience in an inspection discipline (electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, NDE, etc.).
- Ability to generate, review, and revise operational inspection procedures.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems, audits, and documentation practices.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills to work with contractors, suppliers, and project teams.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to project sites as required.
- Ability to provide leadership and make technical judgments regarding the adequacy of equipment and systems.
Pay: $90.01 per hour
Infield Mileage: $0.70 per mile
Schedule:
5 days on / 2 days off
