Community Wellness & Outreach Coordinator
The Community Wellness and Outreach Coordinator plays an essential role in Eddy County's efforts to combat alcohol-related issues by planning, developing, and implementing a variety of targeted program activities. The primary focus of these initiatives is to prevent the incidence of Driving While DWI offenses, binge drinking, underage drinking, and other types of alcohol-related harm within the community.
Responsibilities- Serve as the senior DWI School Facilitator
, facilitating the Carlsbad DWI School sessions. - Oversee and facilitate the DWI Victim Impact Program
, which offers insights into the ramifications of impaired driving through narratives from those affected by DWI incidents. - Obtain certification as a DWI School Facilitator within the first year of employment and maintain that certification.
- Achieve certification as a Prevention Specialist (or actively work towards this qualification) and maintain certification once obtained.
- Ensure all prevention programs are overseen by a Certified Prevention Specialist and adhere to established standards and practices.
- Update the Prevention section of the Management Data System regularly and complete other reporting functions as directed by the DWI Program Manager and the Eddy County Community Services Director.
- Participate actively in monthly DWI Program Advisory Council meetings to collaborate on strategic planning and to discuss ongoing initiatives.
- Work irregular hours, attend job-related meetings, and perform other duties as assigned.
- Certification as a DWI School Facilitator within the first year of employment.
- Certification as a Prevention Specialist or active pursuit of that qualification.
- Ability to work irregular hours and support grant-funded operations (position will remain in effect as long as grant funding is available).
Starting Salary Range: $28.23 - $31.15
