Summary
The Measurement Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, verification, and compliance of crude oil custody transfer measurement systems. This role ensures accurate hydrocarbon measurement in accordance with company standards, API/AGA guidelines, and regulatory requirements. The position requires working knowledge of ROC and OMNI flow computers, LACT units, proving procedures, and field troubleshooting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Maintain and troubleshoot LACT units and associated measurement equipment
- Ensure compliance with API MPMS standards for custody transfer measurement
- Verify proper operation of Coriolis and PD meters
- Monitor and validate temperature, pressure, and density inputs
- Investigate and resolve measurement discrepancies
- Configure and maintain ROC
800 flow computers - Configure and maintain OMNI 6000 and OMNI 7000 systems
- Verify calculation parameters and meter factors
- Conduct and document meter provings in accordance with API MPMS Chapter 4
- Ensure compliance with federal and state measurement regulations
- Maintain required documentation for audits (BLM, state agencies, etc.)
- High school diploma or GED.
- Level C requires a minimum of 0–2 years of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent work experience.
- Level B requires a minimum of 2–4 years of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent work experience.
- Level A requires a minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge of applicable EPA, DOT, RRC, OSHA, NEC, AGA, API, and GPA requirements and procedures.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills to interface with our customer base.
- Strong working knowledge of custody transfer systems.
- PC skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel.
- Experience with ROC and OMNI flow computers.
- Some college or technical trade school is preferred.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Driving, walking, standing frequently.
- Exposure to adverse weather, cramped conditions, and heavy lifting. Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, extreme temperature conditions, loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
