Straddling West Texas and southeastern New Mexico, the Permian is the most prolific oil and gas basin in America and the engine behind the country’s energy renaissance. Nationally, it provides about 40% of oil and 15% of gas production and plays a critical role in making the U.S. a leading energy exporter.

The merger of Exxon Mobil and Pioneer creates an Unconventional business with the largest, high‑return development potential in the Permian Basin. The combined company’s more than 1.4 million net acres in the Delaware and Midland basins have an estimated 16 billion barrels of oil equivalent resource. In 2023, we produced, on average 612,000 barrels a day in the Permian Basin, and we’re aiming to produce 1 million barrels per day from our Permian assets by the end of 2027.

Investments in infrastructure from New Mexico to the Gulf Coast enhance logistics and integrated value. We’ve advanced gathering and processing facilities, including the Cowboy central delivery point. Integration maximizes resource development through to fuels, lubes, and chemicals. The Permian Basin business unit also has the distinction of being the first at Exxon Mobil to unveil and execute a plan for net zero Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions in operated assets by 2030, as part of the Corporation’s broader 2050 net zero ambition.

• Maintain, repair, and operate compressor facilities.
• Will primarily work in the Carlsbad, NM area.

• Manage maintenance work within the facilities to ensure that the work is performed in accordance with the Safe/Hot‑Work Permits and all safety and environmental regulations.
• Be responsible for call‑outs 7:00 am to 7:00 pm (day shift) or 7:00 pm to 7:00 am (night shift).
• Perform skilled troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing operational control systems.
• Accurately document, both written and digitally, maintenance data from day‑to‑day job tasks.

Skills and Qualifications

• Perform basic inspections and repairs on facilities such as filter changes, pump repair, and control valves.
• Perform repairs on equipment consisting of dehyd, fuel skids, vessels, and dumps systems.
• Ensure that all work is performed in a safe manner and in accordance with the company safety procedures.
• Must be dependable and punctual in attendance.
• Must have the ability to work alone and perform maintenance work.
• Will be required to work overtime and/or be on a rotation.
• Must be able to read, write and have computer skills.
• Must have a valid and current state driver license and be able to pass a driver background check.
