Environmental Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Project Manager to lead and oversee complex soil-focused remediation initiatives in, and around, the Carlsbad, New Mexico area that support our commitment to sustainability and regulatory compliance. This role requires strong technical expertise in contaminated soil excavation, stabilization, disposal, and regulatory compliance—particularly within oil & gas environments common to southeastern New Mexico. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on impactful projects, collaborate with diverse teams, and contribute to environmental stewardship within a dynamic organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage environmental projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget
  • Develop project scopes, objectives, and detailed work plans in alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct environmental assessments, site evaluations, and risk analyses to inform project strategies
  • Liaise with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, and internal teams to facilitate communication and ensure project compliance
  • Monitor project progress, prepare reports, and present findings to stakeholders
  • Ensure all projects meet environmental laws, standards, and best practices
  • Identify potential environmental issues and implement mitigation strategies
  • Manage project documentation, permits, and compliance records
Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degrees preferred
  • Strong project management skills managing complex environmental projects, with a minimum of 3 years hands‑on remediation field experience
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of environmental regulations, permitting processes, and sustainability practices
  • Excellent project management skills, including planning, organization, and problem‑solving
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement
  • Ability to analyze data, prepare technical reports, and present findings clearly
  • Proficiency in project management software and environmental modeling tools
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed
