Job SummaryAs a maintenance technician for Coterra, you are responsible for maintaining and repairing production operation systems in your assigned region. You will provide day‑to‑day support and preventive maintenance to critical equipment utilized at various field locations.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Responsible for repair, preventive maintenance and overall proper function of all types of mechanical equipment, including engines, compressors, pumps, valves, turbines, heat exchangers, cooling towers, air coolers, filtration equipment, pressure relief devices, and other specialty items.
- Lead teams of contractor and vendor technicians for maintenance work as required.
- Ensure equipment is maintained according to Coterra Energy compliance and integrity standards to meet expected reliability.
- Assist Maintenance and Engineering teams in activity planning, engineering change and cost control.
- Ensure safe execution of tasks through task instructions, permits‑to‑work, risk assessments, safety meetings, and JSA’s.
- Record all activities accurately in a maintenance system and provide necessary reports.
- Proficient in the use of hydraulic torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers and other precision tools.
- Comply with all regulatory, environmental and safety rules and standards, as well as corporate policies.
- Other tasks as assigned.
- Basic knowledge of natural gas characteristics, engine and compressor operations and maintenance.
- Valid motor vehicle license required.
- Strong commitment to personal and job safety.
- Attention to detail and ability to multi‑task with accuracy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Team player with ability to adapt in a fast‑paced environment.
- Self‑starter, able to work independently.
- Strong verbal and written communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Minimum:
High School or GED. - Preferred: 2‑year/Associate degree.
- Requires 2 or more years of experience in oilfield operations, gas plants, or related experience.
Work is typically performed outdoors with exposure to extreme heat or cold. Must be able to walk, stand, sit, bend, stoop, lift heavy items, and climb ladders. Requires use of personal protective equipment (head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes, flame‑resistant clothing). Safety rules including OSHA requirements are strictly enforced. Willingness to travel and work extended hours on short notice.

Valid state‑issued driver’s license required. Must pass initial drug and alcohol screening. Possible random drug/alcohol screenings. Required to travel between field sites to perform daily tasks.
