Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Vocational Instructor-Janitorial to work with adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) in our Vocational Department. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality vocational training and instruction tailored to the unique needs and abilities of our adult learners. You will develop and implement individualized training programs, evaluate progress, and provide ongoing support to ensure their success in the workplace.
As a Vocational Instructor, you will play a crucial role in empowering our individuals with IDD to gain valuable skills and achieve their vocational goals.

Responsibilities- Develop and deliver individualized vocational training programs based on the abilities and goals of adult learners with IDD.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes engagement, independence and self-confidence.
- Hands-on personal care of clients when necessary.
- Assess individual progress regularly and provide constructive feedback and support to maximize learning outcomes.
- Assist with daily cleaning task including cleaning restrooms, sweeping and mopping, window cleaning, dusting as needed in each department.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of individuals progress and services provided.
- At least 21 years of age, with a good driving record.
- Ability to pass New Mexico Department of Health background checks and meet any specific requirements for working with adults with IDD.
- Ability to frequently lift 50 pounds.
- Flexibility in working with a diverse population of adult learners with IDD and adapting instruction to meet their individual needs.
- Strong passion for vocational education and empowering individuals with IDD to achieve their vocational goals.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team of professionals.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on promoting independence and self-advocacy.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
