Job Title:
Assistant Store Leader (Manager)
- Client & Service Expert: develop business-driving initiatives to build repeat business or attract new customers; communicate and achieve store productivity targets (sales per hour, average transaction value, units per transaction, capture rate); ensure all associates complete sales training and build strong product knowledge; model and supervise selling environment and provide coaching on the sales training process to maintain high customer service and sales levels.
- Leadership Presence / Steward of Talent: assist Store Manager in achieving financial success; assume Store Manager responsibilities in the manager’s absence; lead by example with personal sales goals; educate the team on sales plans, measurable stats, and coach to these metrics; network in the community to fill open positions efficiently; conduct ongoing performance reviews.
- Building Brand Equity: communicate the Kate Spade New York brand aesthetic, philosophy, and lifestyle to the sales team and customers; ensure brand and operating standards are met; implement visual merchandising directives and maintain store presentation; relay merchandise sell-through, stock position, business trends, product issues, and customer feedback to the Store Manager.
- Operational Excellence: supervise store opening and closing procedures, manage payroll-related scheduling, follow loss prevention procedures, and ensure accurate processing of all POS transactions to protect inventory and assets.
- Minimum 3 years of management experience in a comparable retail environment
- College degree preferred
- Prior luxury goods experience preferred
- Physical requirements:
availability to work store schedule including evenings and weekends; standing for extended periods; ability to lift up to 40 pounds; comfortable climbing ladders
