Food Server

Overview

Carlsbad By The Sea Retirement Community is hiring for a Food Server (Part Time).

Schedule:

4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., including weekend availability. Pay Range: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour.

• Provide quality customer service to residents, families, coworkers, and vendors to ensure satisfaction.
• Prepare dining tables (napkins, utensils) and ensure condiments are refilled; assist with other preparation tasks as needed.
• Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties, and deviations; know if kitchen items are running low.
• Direct guests to tables, present menus, suggest dishes, assist with drink selection, and communicate guest needs to the cooks.
• Maintain a positive dining experience by delivering items, fulfilling guest needs, offering desserts and drinks, removing courses, replenishing utensils, and refilling glasses.
• Perform basic cleaning tasks as directed by supervisor; fill in for absent staff; assist with special events as needed.
• Greet guests warmly and follow hygiene and safety standards; comply with all federal, state, and corporate policies, health codes, and guidelines in food handling.
• Adhere to safety procedures, wear safety equipment as required, report safety hazards or accidents to supervision, and participate in safety programs.
• Attend mandatory in-service meetings and comply with department and facility policies and procedures.
• Understand the facility’s fire and disaster plans and follow procedures during drills and actual emergencies.

• Food Handlers’ certification from local health department

• Some High School Education
• 1 year of food service or related experience preferred

The actual compensation offered will depend on a wide range of factors including the candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, training, education, and certifications where applicable.
