Position Overview

The Test Technician Engineer plays a critical role in supporting manufacturing by executing, designing, and sustaining test procedures that validate products against design standards and quality requirements. This position encompasses configuring and conducting electrical, mechanical, and software testing, diagnosing issues, evaluating test results, and contributing to the enhancement of production testing systems.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Configure, run, and service production testing equipment and fixtures to confirm product functionality and performance standards
  • Conduct root cause investigations of test anomalies and recommend solutions for identified issues
  • Partner with engineering teams across design, process, and quality disciplines to deploy new testing methodologies or refine current protocols
  • Perform calibration and upkeep of test instruments to maintain measurement accuracy and consistency
  • Maintain and revise testing documentation, including procedures, test reports, and operational instructions
  • Support validation activities for newly developed products and manufacturing processes
  • Verify that all testing activities adhere to internal quality standards, client specifications, and applicable regulations
  • Provide real‑time technical support to production personnel by resolving test‑related challenges
  • Engage in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing programs to enhance testing efficiency and output quality
  • Provide training to operators and production staff on correct testing procedures and equipment operation
  • Document findings and compile comprehensive reports on collected testing data
  • Execute product evaluations for safety, capacity, regulatory compliance, and performance metrics
  • Utilize precision measurement tools and instruments
  • Compare test outcomes against established specifications
  • Propose enhancements to manufacturing and testing processes
  • Oversee equipment maintenance and recordkeeping
  • Verify adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Execute modifications to testing protocols as necessary
  • Communicate concerns and findings through proper organizational channels
Work Setting:

This position operates within a production facility featuring appropriate lighting, climate control, and moderate ambient noise levels. The standard schedule is 40 hours across five days per week, with flexibility for additional hours based on operational requirements.

Required Qualifications:

Education
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a comparable technical discipline
Professional Background
  • 2‑5 years of manufacturing test experience
  • Demonstrated competency with automated testing equipment, data collection systems, and measurement instruments (such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies)
  • Working knowledge of root cause methodologies and failure analysis techniques
  • Advanced analytical and problem‑solving capabilities
  • Ability to interpret engineering blueprints, circuit diagrams, and testing specifications
  • Programming or scripting experience (LabVIEW, Python, C#, etc.) preferred
  • Superior documentation and interpersonal communication abilities
  • Knowledge of workplace safety protocols and electrostatic discharge (ESD) prevention
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Capability to maintain standing or seated positions for prolonged durations while operating testing equipment
  • Physical capacity to lift objects weighing 25‑40 pounds
