Whatyou’ll do
Viasat is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to fill the role of Net Agility Mobile Routers (NMR) Product Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for heading the NMR Product Line, leading a team of professionals to drive market expansion, revenue growth, and successful execution of programs within the Department of War (DoW) and related sectors. This role requires a visionary leader with a proven track record of achieving revenue targets, identifying and capturing new market opportunities, managing IR&D programs, and delivering exceptional results in the defense technology sector.
Theday-to-day
- Strategic Vision:
Provide strategic direction and leadership for the NMR product line, setting clear objectives and initiatives to drive growth and profitability. - Team Management:
Work in a matrixed organization with Engineers, Contracts, Finance, Operations, and across multiple businesses fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence. - Market Expansion:
Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities to expand the company's footprint, leveraging cutting-edge offerings to meet customer needs and drive revenue growth. - Program Execution:
Oversee the full lifecycle of programs, from shaping requirements and capture to proposal, negotiation, execution, and contract closeout, ensuring alignment with cost, schedule, and performance goals in both customer funded programs and internally funded IR&D programs. - Customer Engagement:
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders, ensuring customer satisfaction and driving repeat business. - Financial Management:
Manage the financial performance of the NMR portfolio, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation, to achieve annual revenue growth targets. - Compliance and
Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures, while proactively identifying and mitigating risks to program success.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a Product Management role within the defense technology sector, with a track record of driving revenue growth and successfully executing large-scale programs.
- Working knowledge of the Federal procurement process (including IDIQs, OTAs, BAAs, and other acquisition instruments).
- Demonstrated expertise in Department of War, specifically US Air Force, US Marine Corps, US Army, US Navy, US Space Force, US Special Operations, and international strategy.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve exceptional results.
- Proven ability to think strategically, identify market trends, and capitalize on new opportunities to drive business growth.
- Former US Military experience preferred.
- Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Active Secret clearance.
- Experience running a product portfolio of military use hardware.
- Experience managing financial performance of the product portfolio, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation, to achieve annual revenue growth targets.
