Program / Project Manager, Operations Manager
Overview
Vulcan Wireless, Inc. is looking for a Program Manager who will serve as the face of the organization to customers. The mission of the Program Manager is to champion planning, coordination, and communication responsibilities for overall cost, schedule, performance, and quality as directed by the Value Stream Leader. You will be the focal point for military-centric or commercial customers, responsible for ensuring the team’s objectives are achieved while coordinating a multi-disciplinary team across multiple parts of the organization.
The candidate will support multiple Lunar, Cislunar and orbital space missions. This position requires working onsite at our Carlsbad, CA facility. This position requires U.S. citizenship.
- Management for the full lifecycle of assigned product from inception through completion, inclusive of pursuit/order capture, design and development, produce to deliver, service/support, and input into long-term strategic business plans.
- Maintain project schedules, risk analysis, procurement plans, subcontract management plans, project staffing plans, and budgets (direct costs, subcontracts, travel, etc.).
- Participate in customer meetings to define and refine requirements.
- Report program updates regularly to executive team and our customers.
- Track all internal and external deliverables, prepare and present formal and informal design and progress reviews.
- Generate proposals/scope of work based on customer requirements.
- Work closely with members of their own program team, technical peer teams, and program controllers to ensure our systems meet all requirements and achieve all milestones, while staying within strict budgetary constraints.
- Define and monitor key performance metrics.
- Plan, direct, and monitor program budget.
- Oversee and manage deliverables, risk/opportunity/issues, configuration, and change management.
- Engage with customers ranging from US military, NASA, commercial and international clients.
- Other duties may be assigned based on business needs.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences
- 5+ years' experience as a project lead or project manager with a demonstrated reputation for delivering unique, high-complexity systems
- Proven ability to deliver on-time and on-budget
- Experience with rapid development projects
- Ability to define and utilize metrics, develop program schedules, and control budgets to manage program activities
- Demonstrated teamwork and written/oral communications skills
- Ability to communicate across organizational boundaries and levels
- Demonstrated employee management experience and proficiency in task management
- Ability to help organize and manage a team of personnel, develop program schedules, and control budgets to meet required deadlines
- Strong experience utilizing Microsoft Office:
Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Project - P&L (Profit & Loss) experience, preferred
- Experience working in a Manufacturing environment, preferred
- Understanding of satellites, space sensors and ground systems used for space assets
- Aerospace industry experience
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Salary Range: 77,
- Compensation depends on experience level
